Description
Abbey Road On The River is marking its 10th year as the biggest Beatles Music Festival in the world. In 2010 over 40,000 Beatles fans came to Louisville, over Memorial Day weekend and to Washington D.C. over Labor Day weekend to help us celebrate the four lads we all love so much. They arrive with strollers and baby slings and some use walkers or canes, but one way or another, everyone is dancing. They attend from 40 states and 10 countries. When thirteen year old boys dance with their mothers, and dads & daughters and fathers & sons take to the stage to sing and play this amazing music together, you know you are experiencing something very good, very healthy, and very uplifting.
The Old Brown Shoes will bring you authentic versions of the songs of The Beatles!Unique for this band is that all 5 members sing and there is a lady behind the drums (Ringa!). These 5 top musicians came from both Beatles Tribute Bands ‘Mal Evans Memorial Band’ and ‘Strawberry Beats’ and reached a big audience. Both bands have played International Beatlesweek Liverpool several times before. The Mal Evans Memorial Band recieved the first Golden Apple Award in 2005 from fanclub ‘Beatles Unlimited’, chosen to be the best Beatles tribute band of that year. They also released their album ‘Help! The Beatles in het Nederlands’ (The Beatles in Dutch) and had exposure on radio and tv in Holland. The Strawberry Beats released the single ‘Come And Get It’, a song The Beatles never recorded. Also the DVD The Strawberry Beats live – A Tribute To The Beatles became a success. Now all talent of both bands came together in this new band ‘The Old Brown Shoes’.Have fun checking this band out live!
